An oldie but goodie SEO Check List

Attached is a great SEO Checklist compliments of Elliance. Though it may be from 2007, it is still fairly accurate.

A few things worth mentioning:

  1. Open/setup accounts with Google webmaster tools, Bing webmaster tools, and Yahoo! SiteExplorer.  Then be sure to submit your xml formatted sitemaps to each of them.
  2. Include a valid robots.txt file that references the restricted folders/pages as well as the sitemaps.
  3. Include keywords within all content, headings, page titles, meta descriptions, body paragraphs, image alt tags, etc.  
  4. If applicable, embed v-cards, KML (geographical sitemaps), or geocoded images.
  5. Install analytics such as Google Analytics to keep track and monitor site traffic.
